Somaya Abdul Wahhab Al-Samahy is an academic, translator, and educator specializing in English literature. She serves as an assistant lecturer at MSA University and a part-time instructor at Alexandria University while pursuing her Ph.D. on postcolonial narratives. In addition, she is the Translation Department Manager at Sulphur Editions, an initiative aiming at translating contemporary Arabic literature and knowledge worldwide. With extensive translation experience for institutions such as the King Faisal Centre and Bibliotheca Alexandrina, she translated a variety of works including Prof. Khaled Fahmy’s research “The Essence of Alexandria” (2016), “Leeway” (2023), a short story by Ahmad Fouadeldin, parts 2&3 of Mitchel Hogan’s Sorcery Ascendency Trilogy (2024) and In Howling Embrace (2025), a poetry collection by Dr. Marwa Nabil.
